My name is Sandeep Singh, cousin of Amit Kumar, and I am raising this fundraiser for Priya Sharma and her family during this heartbreaking time. Priya Sharma, 36 years old, delivered a healthy baby boy on May 6, 2026. She was discharged from the hospital with her baby on May 9. Within 24 hours, Priya began experiencing severe pain, a rising heart rate, and worsening symptoms, leading her family to bring her back to the Emergency Department. After remaining in the hospital overnight, the family says they were informed there was “no infection” and she was discharged home. Soon after returning home, Priya’s condition rapidly worsened. She experienced severe abdominal pain, difficulty breathing, extreme weakness, and a rapidly rising heart rate. On the evening of May 11, her condition became critical. Despite being placed on a ventilator for nearly 12 hours, Priya tragically passed away on May 12, 2026. The preliminary cause of death stated: Group A Streptococcus sepsis. The family believes this was a preventable death and is seeking answers regarding possible gross negligence and failures in medical care and treatment connected to Priya’s case. Priya leaves behind her husband, Amit Kumar, a 6-year-old daughter, and a newborn baby boy who was only 6 days old at the time of her passing. During this devastating time, the family is seeking accountability and justice so that no other family has to experience a tragedy like this again.
