My grandmother was the kindest, strongest, and most nurturing soul I’ve ever known. She had a heart big enough to care for not only her own children, but anyone who needed love, safety, or a warm place to rest. Her home was always open, and her kitchen never empty — she made sure every belly was full and every person felt seen, safe, and cared for.

She was everyone’s light, our rock, and our safe haven. On top of all the love she gave, she also carried an incredible amount of responsibility — not just for herself, but for her sick husband and so many others who leaned on her. She carried that weight with grace, strength, and quiet courage, never once letting it dim her warmth.

She beat cancer twice, endured more than most could imagine, and still chose love every single day. She taught us how to be strong by showing up, again and again, with open arms and a giving heart.

She was more than my grandmother — she was my best friend. And now, in her honor, I’ll do all I can to carry the weight she bore so bravely. Her legacy lives on in the love we share and the strength we find in ourselves because of her.

I miss her more than words can say, and I will carry her with me — always.
