In Memory: Laurie Wheeler for Jamie
Donation protected
Laurie Wheeler was a bright, vibrant, beautiful, outgoing woman. Those who knew her loved her instantly. She made you laugh and smile! Laurie overcame so many obstacles, including becoming a single mom in her early twenties.
She was a mom, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a niece, a cousin, a friend. Her dad had died in August of 2016 and Laurie was emotionally traumatized. She struggled with grieving the loss of her "hero" and, sadly, had been on the front line for his passing.
She was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome in late January of this year and was out of work for most of that time. She had little to no income and, as a result, had not been paying most of her bills. She wouldn't ask for help nor would she take the help that those close to her tried to offer. Laurie passed away on August 17 at the age of just 48. Her death was sudden and unexpected, leaving us all shocked and deeply saddened.
She left behind her son, Jamie, who is only 24 and having to deal with unpaid bills, including a mortgage, utilities (the water had already been shut off), and her car, among others. Toward the end her dogs had even been neglected (and those who knew her know how much she loved those dogs).
Laurie had no savings. The final arrangements, along with trying to pick up the pieces of his mom's broken life, are beyond anything Jamie can afford.
If Laurie touched your life in anyway, please let Jamie know through your contribution. Your help is so graciously appreciated and will help him put his mom to rest physically, while he continues to deal with the loss emotionally.
