In Memory of Angela Shih Lin: Support Public Media
Tax deductible
Angela Shih Lin tragically passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 29, after being struck by falling tree branches while hiking in Yosemite with her friends.
Angela was known for her kindness, sincerity, and genuine and deep connections with others. She was an avid swing dancer in the SF Bay Area, and would frequent events like Wednesday Night Hop and Bal Haus. She found pleasure in singing and playing guitar, and was active in choir groups during high school (in Monterey Park, CA) and her time at Cal (class of 2017). An excellent baker, Angela had been working her way through Claire Saffitz cookbooks while baking delicious desserts for her friends. She cherished nature and the outdoors, whether it was strolls along the beach, hikes in the mountains, or simply walks outside. She was all this, and so much more.
In memory of Angela, we are starting this charitable fundraiser to support KQED Inc., a PBS member station in the SF Bay Area dedicated to enriching lives through diverse media and education. Angela believed in the power of knowledge and community, and was saddened by the recent federal defunding of public media. By contributing, we can honor Angela's legacy and help others grow and thrive.
Your donations will help KQED to:
- Provide resources and programs that empower individuals and communities.
- Support diverse media initiatives that celebrate innovation and lifelong learning.
All donated funds are given directly to KQED. The family prefers contributions to this charitable fundraiser in lieu of flowers or other gifts. Please feel no obligation to contribute.
We love you Angela, and we will miss you forever ❤️
Thank you, and take care,
Angela's Family
