Help Lay a Great Man to Rest:
In Loving Memory of Troy Chatman It is with a heavy heart that we reach out to the community during this sorrowful time. Troy Chatman, a beloved son, brother, and friend, tragically passed away in a fatal accident on Friday June, 1, 2024. Known for his love of the open road and the roar of his Harley, Troy was a familiar face throughout Kansas City, touching lives with his kind spirit and dedication to his work as a dump truck driver. Troy’s sudden departure has left us all with an irreplaceable void. As we navigate through this period of grief, we are setting up this fund to support his mother and family in laying Troy to rest and to celebrate his life, which was full of passion and joy. Any assistance you can provide during this challenging time would be greatly appreciated. Your contributions will help cover the funeral expenses and support Troy’s family as they cope with the loss. I will update this post with information about specifics of laying Troy to rest, as more information is available. Thanking all friends in advance.

(KCTV) - A driver was speeding east on I-70 Saturday night when they hit three cars driving in the same direction, causing a fatal crash. The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on eastbound I-70 at Manchester Trafficway. According to KCPD, a gold Chevrolet Equinox was speeding when it hit Troy’s black Ford Expedition, causing the Expedition to slide and overturn. The Expedition rolled over the top of a black Toyota Camry and down an embankment. The Expedition’s only occupant, the driver, Troy was ejected onto the shoulder of the highway. Troy was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota Camry, which the Expedition rolled over, was uninjured. The driver and passenger of a Ford F150 were also involved in the crash but were not injured. The Chevrolet Equinox driver was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition. KCPD is investigating the possibility of impairment. According to KCPD, this is crash fatality #45 of the year as compared to #32 at the same time last year. All lanes of eastbound I-70 at Manchester Trafficway were completely closed for approximately three hours, KCPD reported. All lanes have since been reopened.
