Gaudencio Simacio Mapesos Sr. also known as Danny / Gaddie was a natural born
Filipino. He was born on January 22, 1953 in the island of Anda, Bohol Philippines. He’s the
second child amongst 4 children of Sulpecia Mapesos and Donato Mapesos. Due to poor living
in the province, Gaudencio decided to move and look for a greener Pasteur in Manila City at the
age of 14. He started working in a restaurant as a dishwasher. With his perseverance, hard work
and determination, he was able to learn how to cook and eventually got promoted. He then
became the chief cook of the restaurant. At the age of 19, he met and fell in love with Rosalinda
Aponte. They became lovers and got married within a year of being in a relationship.

They were blessed with 7 lovely and beautiful children. To be able to provide and give a
good life to his family, Gaudencio flew abroad and worked in the Middle East from year 1977
until 1990. He spent most of his work experiences as a chief cook in several restaurants located
in Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Because of his great work ethics, an opportunity to be a seafarer knocked on him. He was
a chief cook at tanker ships for almost 2 decades. He travelled the world from the year of 1991
until 2010.

He retired from being a seaman and pursue his children’s dream to live and migrate in the
United States of America. Gaudencio and Rosalinda were petitioned by their second child,
Rosalie Mapesos Torda and her husband Ronald Torda. His old age didn’t stop him from doing
his craft. Gaudencio continued working as a cook at Chipotle and Panda Express restaurant. He
was hardworking, professional and a great coworker. Everybody loved working with him.

Gaudencio was a great husband and a father. He was so responsible and a very good
provider to his family. He didn’t get tired of working just to ensure that all his children would be
able to finish their studies and be able to enjoy a good life that he once dreamed of having.
Gaudencio is being loved and adored by everyone for his generosity and kindness. He always
extends his hand to anyone who needs him. He never hesitated to give and help his friends and
family. He was such a great person to everyone who knows him. He was also a loving and caring
grandfather to all his grandchildren. He was a protective father but has a very soft heart for his
children. He’s been a great and a very loving husband to his wife.

God took him home at the age of 68. Leaving nothing but wonderful memories to all his
loved ones. His life was so colorful, meaningful, and very inspirational. He surely has done his
purpose in life and has accomplished his mission.

He will surely be missed and never going to be forgotten. His memories will forever live
and linger in the hearts and minds of his friends, relatives, and family.
