In Memoriam to Gabe Evenson

Our dear friend and colleague, Stephanie Chasse, lost her 19-year-old son this past weekend. Gabe Evenson passed away July 24, 2022 from natural causes. His unexpected passing has shattered this beautiful family.

Many of Stephanie's friends within Nokia and beyond have inquired as to what they can do to help the family or where to send a small gift to brighten their day. This gofundme page provides a way for us to collectively achieve that goal and is open for all as well for all of Gabe's friends, relatives and acquaintances.

We hope to raise enough money to purchase a memorial honoring Gabe. Gabe was a custodian with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board and spent the majority of his professional career cleaning at Stonecrest Elementary School. His family, friends and community are planning a memorial at Stonecrest to install a buddy bench. For those who are unfamiliar, a buddy bench is a spot where a child can go if they are sad or lonely or bullied. This allows other children to come over and offer support, friendship or just a chat. Who better to chat to than, Gabe?
