In Memory of Our Beloved Omar Morales Sr

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our husband, father, grandfather and friend — Omar Morales Sr.
Omar Sr's final stage in life had an abundance of love and happiness sourced from his family, friends and faith, but they were also the most challenging. In the last three years his health had been in rapid decline. He was plagued by an unforgiving battle with diabetes, kidney failure and deteriorating lung health. He spent four hours a day, every other day, at dialysis for over five years. This was all before COVID-19 found him in June, which was the beginning of the end for an individual who entered the fight of his life with an unfair disadvantage.
A miracle happened in early August — Omar Sr was kept alive by the hard working professionals at Parkland Hospital. They bought us precious time with him between August and October 28. He was able to return home, where he spent his time empressing his spirit on his family. He even finally mastered his baking skills.
In the end Omar's recovery never fully took flight. His complications, resulting from subsequent COVID-19 related hospitalizations, ultimately claimed his life while he was at home with his family.
The costs of medical care for Omar Sr's battle in the final stage of his life astronomically soared. On behalf of the Morales', I humbly ask for your support to help us cover end-of-life expenses, which include medical and funeral costs.
