On Friday, January 27th, my 29-year-old brother, Michael Patrick, passed away unexpectedly. As anyone who’s experienced loss understands, words to adequately describe the relentless weight of this loss - or magnitude of his impact on those around him - just simply do not exist in a language that can be spoken or transcribed.
He was talented, funny, caring and compassionate. And his love of family was palpable, penetrable and an anchor in our lives, the loss of which will forever be felt. If you knew Michael, you knew he was the life of the party. He cared about making people smile - and he wanted everyone to smile and have a good time, no matter the circumstances.
Of the many roles Michael filled, including those of son, brother and friend, it’s the role of “Daddy” to his six-year-old daughter, Jayda, that has undoubtedly left the greatest void in his absence. He was fiercely protective of his family and his love for Jayda was incomparable.
Our hope with this page is to help provide Jayda with the ability to learn and thrive and have every opportunity to be happy and make an impact in her daddy’s honor, but more importantly, to confidently navigate her own journey and make an impact of her very own.
