On September 12th, 2026, we are organizing a memorial concert to celebrate the life and lasting legacy of Matias de Oliveira Pinto — our father, a gifted cellist, devoted teacher, and inspiring mentor to so many.

Around 40 of his former students, together with us, will come together in a cello-only ensemble to perform a program deeply connected to him: pieces he played and arranged himself, works dedicated to him, and pieces written or arranged by his own students in his memory.

We wanted as many people as possible to be able to join us for this evening of music, remembrance, and gratitude.

As his children, Fabio and Carolina, we are covering the costs of this evening ourselves. If you'd like to contribute, any donation is truly appreciated, but entirely optional. Should the donations exceed the actual costs, we will donate the remaining amount to the Herbert von Karajan Foundation and the Julius Stern Institute — the foundation that once enabled our father's path to Berlin with a scholarship, and the institute where he himself taught for many years, shaping the musical path of so many of his students.
