In Memoriam of Douglas A Wicker III

Donation protected

Douglas A Wicker III, passed away in the arms of his loving wife, surrounded by family on April 29, 2021 at the age of 60. Loving husband of Nancy (nee Podjaski). Cherished father of Douglas Austin Wicker IV, Reanna Wicker and Nicole Wicker. Son of the late Douglas A. Wicker Jr., and Darlene Wicker (nee Grable). Brother of Daniel Wicker and Dawn (Brett) Bohn. Special buddy to his pup Bandit. Also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbors and friends.

Douglas worked for the City of Milwaukee as a painter. His work included Milwaukee’s firehouses, police stations and the City Hall.

He was a guitarist, artist, musky fisherman, boat builder, lure maker, car enthusiast, teacher and master of all trades.

He retired from the city just a month before he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He fought the good fight, going through chemotherapy, radiation and surgery but the cancer spread throughout his body.

His children all attend college and his wife is retired. When he retired he had no life insurance so we ask that you help his family pay for medical bills that stacked up trying to save his life.
Or, if you would like to donate directly to Esophageal Cancer Awareness, you can support the cause at EC Aware

Douglas' family would like to extend a special thanks to his entire Fire Department Family, the staff of the Froedtert Cancer Care Center, and the staff of Aurora Zilber Family Hospice for their compassionate care.

Thank you!
