In Lulu’s Memory: Help Grizzly Get Back on His Paws
Donation protected
Meet Grizzly—my sweet, energetic boy who’s been my "buddy bear" since adopting him in 2020 from a Chicago rescue organization.
Grizzly has recently been diagnosed with CCL (cranial cruciate ligament) tears in both of his hind legs and will need bilateral TPLO surgery to regain his mobility and live without pain. This news has been especially hard as it comes on the heels of a tough two years caring for his older “sister,” Lulu, who passed away in January after long-term (and expensive!) veterinary rehabilitative services for advanced neurodegenerative disease.
The emotional and financial strain of Lulu’s care has left me in a difficult position, and I’m reaching out for help as I try to give Grizzly the medical care he urgently needs. The Grizz is an otherwise happy, healthy dog and his team of vets - including primary vet, rehabilitative veterinarian, and veterinary orthopedic surgeon - all agree he will make a full recovery and resume regular pre-CCL tear activities.
Unfortunately, Grizzly’s surgery comes with a hefty price tag, and while I’m doing everything I can to cover the costs, I can’t do it alone. Any donation—no matter the size—would go directly toward his surgery, recovery, and helping him get back to the happy, tail-wagging, emotional support pup he deserves to be.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for even reading this and considering a contribution to Grizzly’s healing journey. He means more to me, especially right now, more than words can convey.
With gratitude,
Jessica & Grizzly
