Cancer support for Louise Riley and family
Hello everyone,
This go fund me page is set up for Louise and her family to help reduce any financial stress or burden, so she and her family can focus on treatment as once her baby is born her
husband Darren will be on unpaid leave from work to care for 2 year old Jack, newborn
baby and Louise. We know everyone will want to do all that they can to help Louise as she is so loved.
We want to raise $20,000 to help Louise and family during this time. Every dollar donated will help towards this goal. No matter how big or small of a donation every bit helps.
I'm here to share my cousin Louise’s story.
Six years ago, Louise moved from England to Canada as she has always dreamed of since her childhood when she would visit her family here in Devon, Alberta. Canada is where she met her husband Darren and they started a family in 2019 with the birth of their first child Jack.
In January 2021 Louise received incredible news that she was expecting her 2nd child, at 35 years old she was grateful to complete her family with a baby girl.
A few short months later Louise who had a
badly fixed tooth with a sharp edge that had
been rubbing on her tongue for several
months and had not gone to get it looked at
due to covid restrictions, was diagnosis with
Stage 2 squamous cell cancer on June 8, 2021 at 27 weeks pregnant. Devastating news and extremely rare at her age during pregnancy.
At 35 and away from her immediate family, she is left trying to navigate a new reality for her and her family. This is a complete shock for anyone to absorb. The road ahead is now paved with uncertainty and instability, and is heartbreaking to see.
Louise is currently awaiting news from her fetal medicine appointment coming next week to find out when they will be taking her baby girl out prematurely so they can give her the gruelling 10-12 hour surgery that she is in need of to remove the lesion and get oral reconstruction before the cancer grows any more.
In trying to manage things and provide a quality of life, she will likely require weeks in the hospital post surgery and her baby girl will likely be in a different hospital until she is healthy enough to go home. She is worried for her family as financially her husband will still need to be working and caring for Jack and going
between two different hospitals to see his
wife and newborn daughter.
Louise and her family are going through something no young family should ever have to endure. She is incredibly independent and able to cope with more than most.
Let’s all work together to give to Louise and family and provide extra support as they try to figure out their next steps.
With Louise’s prognosis the future holds many treatments and appointments and we would like to help support them in having less financial worries.
Louise is in the fight for her and unborn
daughters life!
Please donate whatever you can as it all adds up and thank you for thinking of Louise and keeping her, Darren, Jack and unborn
daughter in your prayers .
With love,
Lyndsy
