In Loving Memory & Support of Gerardo Alonso
Donation protected
On November 10, 2021, we lost Gerardo Alonso, 29, a son, brother, uncle, and friend due to a battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The cancer was discovered at an unfortunate period, and he began chemotherapy treatment in the hospital. It seemed like everything was under control, he was able to leave the hospital right before his 29th birthday in May. A month ago, the cancer became aggressive, it spread from lymph nodes surrounding his stomach to his liver, then metastasized in his brain. Gerardo was a hopeful individual, but once the cancer reached his brain, the doctors knew his time was limited. He fought until his last breath.
To the surprise of many readings this, he had been battling illnesses his entire life. At the age of 9, Gerardo was diagnosed with Evan's Syndrome, an autoimmune disease in which an individual's immune system attacks their own red blood cells and platelets. Through every hurdle placed in front of him, Gerardo managed to live his life always with a smile on his face. During his 29 years of life, he shared his kindness, love, laughter, silliness, gratitude, and friendship with anyone who crossed his path.
He was the life of the party, the friend who gave you a shoulder to lean on, a brother who protected you, a son who never forgot to say I love you, and an uncle who through all the pain was able to teach what being strong and brave looked like.
We want to thank everyone for all the prayers, love, and support. We are asking for donations to help with funeral expenses, support our parents, and to contribute to his celebration of life. We want to celebrate him for everything he was, no donation is too small, we appreciate every penny, prayer, and share. There are no words to express our feelings, but we thank those near and far from us during this difficult time. Gerardo will never be forgotten and will always have a place in our hearts.
WE WANT TO THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS!
