On Sunday, March 1, 2026, our family and community experienced a heartbreaking loss when dear Zaara Zaman, a bright and caring 19-year-old, tragically lost her life in a car accident on Fries Mill Road in Clayton, New Jersey. Zaara was a beloved daughter, a dear sister, a caring friend, and a dedicated student at Rowan University, where she was a law and justice scholarship holder. Her kindness and smile touched many lives, and she was known for her belief in humanity and her passion for social work. Zaara dreamed of dedicating her life to promoting social change, empowerment, liberation, and justice. She aimed to improve lives by serving communities and supporting individuals through challenges like poverty, trauma, and mental health struggles. As a kind-hearted organ donor, Zaara saved and benefited many lives through her selfless gift. This tragedy is a reminder of how precious life is, especially someone as special as Zaara. In honor of Zaara’s life and memory, we as her family and community are launching this memorial charity fundraising campaign. Our goal is to carry forward the beautiful light of Zaara Zaman’s humanitarian work and to improve the lives of people in need and suffering. The purpose of this charity fundraiser is to turn our grief and sadness into action.
