Ysmael Escamilla Gallegos came to the United States in the late 60s looking for a better life for his family. He made a living by starting his own business selling plants. He was a tough man that valued hard work so much that he worked his entire life. He married Juana in 1961 and together had nine children. My mother was his eldest child. She was 17 years old when she left with him to the States. Together, they worked to bring the rest of the family to southern California. He passed away on his 68th wedding anniversary (November 30th, 2019) and was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
We are trying to raise funds for his memorial service. We need to raise $6,500 to pay for the grave site and the service. We need these funds by December 15th, 2019. We understand that it is the holidays and this is all short notice but any help would be greatly appreciated.
