Hi, my name is Lanie and I am raising funds for my good friend Catherine Choi and her family as she navigates through the loss of her beautiful mom, Young Mi Park, who passed on December 20, 2022, from gallbladder cancer.

Ever since her mom was diagnosed, Catherine has taken a break from her studies in UX/UI Design and become the primary caretaker for her mom. Despite the lack of income, Catherine and her mom have, fortunately, received monetary assistance from hospital programs to fund expensive medications and procedures, as well as, support from church members from NC and CA who provided meals and prayer.

The grief from losing a parent is challenging enough, so this fundraiser is to ease part of the huge life shift for Catherine and her family, including helping to bridge their financial burdens. In the coming months, Catherine would like to resume her studies in the UX program and move closer to friends and family in SoCal, where she will find a part time job while completing the program. These proceeds will help Catherine and her family pay for funeral expenses, Catherine’s remaining coursework in her program, and other living expenses.
