In Loving Memory Of William Ruiz

   
William “Willy” Ruiz has been called home to his Lord after a month long fight with the COVID -19. During 4 long weeks at the Cleveland Clinic he experienced the ups and downs in his health but never losing the faith, never losing hope. Willy was a loving husband to his wife of 40 years Rosita, a proud father to his 3 children, a doting grandfather to his 5 grandkids, a dedicated son and brother, a devoted Christian, a loyal friend.

Willy was passionately committed to every aspect of his life...family, friends, workplace. For 36 years of Willy's of his life he dedicated his energy to the company he loved, Bacardi, in many different roles, locations and levels of responsibility. 

It was in Bacardi where I met Willy and was fortunate enough to have enjoyed his friendship for over 30 years as my mentor, friend, my brother.  To everyone that came in contact with Willy he always had a kind word, wise counsel, at your side at a minutes notice in times of crisis and along the way mentored an entire generation of professionals.  

The Ruiz family is now tasked with going on with their lives but also challenged with the mounting bills related to the medical treatments and funeral expenses. The amount of medical costs not covered by insurance range in the neighborhood of $33,000 and approximately $17,000 related to funeral expenses. I ask you all to contribute what you can to this fund in loving memory for everything Willy meant to us and providing support to his loved ones. 

Our intention is to gather the funds over the next 30 days in order to assist the family with these exorbitant expenses. The funds will be managed by Willy's oldest son William "Willito" Ruiz Lozada.
