At our 13 week appointment, we received the news that our son, William Jack Wigington, had been diagnosed with Trisomy 13. From that moment on, we experienced a range of emotions, grief, fear, hope, faith, and love, never knowing how much time we would be given with our son.

Throughout our pregnancy, we had two doctor appointments each week so that we could monitor William and cherish every moment we had with him. Along the way, we were incredibly blessed by the people who surrounded us. Family, friends, churches, and support groups walked alongside us, prayed with us, encouraged us, and helped us through some of the hardest days of our lives.

William was prayed for by hundreds of people throughout our pregnancy. So many people who had never even met him knew his name, loved him, and prayed for him. We will forever be grateful for the community that carried us when we didn't know how we were going to carry ourselves.

When William was born on September 13 2026 at 11:20pm, we were blessed with two precious hours with our son. We got to meet him alive, hold him, love him, and hear him cry, which was a few of our biggest prayers throughout the entire pregnancy. He was surrounded by his family, and although our time with him was far shorter than we ever wanted, those two hours were some of the most meaningful moments of our lives.

William's life was brief, but his impact was not.

Through everything we experienced, we saw firsthand how much families facing a Trisomy 13 diagnosis need, compassion, support, resources, prayer, and people who understand what they are going through. We don't want William's story to end with us.

Our hope is to establish The William Jack Foundation in William's name, a nonprofit that will provide support, resources, encouragement, and assistance to families who receive a diagnosis like ours. We want to come alongside parents during the moments when they feel scared, overwhelmed, and alone, and remind them that their baby is loved, their baby's life matters, and they don't have to walk through it alone.
