In Loving Memory of Wendell!
Donation protected
On Thursday October 14, 2021 Wendell Williams Jr., called his mother early in the morning around 2am short of breath stating "mom, I can't breathe." Mom left home immediately to see about her troubled son. When she arrived he was already with the paramedics who would not let her see him. Wendell had suffered from an acute asthma attack that sent him into cardiac arrest. Wendell's manager did his best to resuscitate him until the ambulance came. Upon arriving to the hospital Wendell stayed in ICU at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Mi, with his family right by his side. His mother was there everyday for the 3 weeks. Wendell had suffered from a traumatic brain injury due to the loss of use of his lungs which in turn did not produce enough oxygen to his brain. The neurologist stated that Wendell did not have much brain activity, and that the only thing that he had left going for him was his breathing, but that was a at very low count. "The man we once knew and loved was gone," the doctor stated. Wendell still had life in him, and everyone hoped and prayed for his recovery. Unfortunately, on November 6, 2021 Wendell made his transition.
Wendell is a beloved 26 year old son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, and coworker. His mothers "rock," he would do anything for anyone. He did not get into any trouble, worked hard, and took care of things. Wendell is the practical joker, and keeps everyone laughing. This tragic loss is so devastating to all who loves him. Wendell is so much to so many people, and even after his transition he is still helping people. It was a surprise to his family to find out that Wendell is able help save 5 lives as he is an organ donor. It brings a piece of comfort to his family members to know that Wendell is able to be a blessing and gift, and still lives on to bring life to someone else.
The family is in need of donations to help fund Wendell's funeral costs, and hospital bills. 100% of the net proceeds will go to the family. The family is so grateful for all who has been there, and for everyone's support during this difficult time. The family would especially like to thank all of Henry Ford Hospitals nurses, doctors, and staff who took care of, and did everything that they could to save Wendell's life.
