Vince Honnigford was a truly good neighbor, friend, and man. Vince passed away suddenly and tragically on Thanksgiving. He leaves behind his loving wife Laurie and his beloved son, Seth 19, along with his parents David 95, and Jenny 94 and his brother and sisters. His life was focused on his family, his friends, and his neighbors and he was always happy and willing to help others.
After spending a quiet Thanksgiving due to the whole family being sick with the flu, Vince was taken to the emergency room in the early hours of the morning and then rushed by ambulance to a specialized critical care facility where unfortunately he passed away.
The extreme flu in Vince’s family, involving several follow-up emergency room and doctor visits for Seth has kept the family from being able to grieve in a house filled with family and friends with the support we would like to surround them with. Instead, I’m left to write here about the wonderful impact that Vince and his family have had on their friends and neighbors including me and my husband.
Just a little more about them: their son Seth was the highlight of their life. Any discussion with Vince left no doubt how proud of Seth he was and what a wonderful man Seth is growing into.
Years ago, Vince suffered a fall while cutting a tree branch. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and was left unable to work. However, he turned adversity into advantage and instead dedicated his life to helping others in any way he could. We were extremely lucky when in 2014 Laurie, Vince and Seth chose to move to Littleton Colorado to bless our lives with their presence.
Vince was always there for his family and his neighbors. He touched our lives in innumerable ways. Vince would always volunteer to take care of pets for neighbors who were going out of town or unable to do so for illness or injury. Vince kept an eye out for his neighbors and would shovel older neighbors' driveways and sidewalks in the wintertime. Vince was always helping neighbors with projects when he saw help was needed from repairing clocks and lawnmowers or helping with minor construction.
Vince enjoyed his weekly breakfast meeting with the neighborhood men. He was exceptional at clock repair. He also enjoyed riding his vintage Harley, working around the house and yard and walking the family collies (or pulling them in a wagon as they got old). Most importantly, Vince enjoyed his family and friends.
Due to Vince and the rest of the family’s illness over Thanksgiving and unexpected medical and funeral bills, his family had been left with many unplanned expenses. Please help them in the way that Vince helped so many of us.
Vince has already passed it forward for so many for his entire life.
Any help for his family in their time of need would be greatly appreciated, along with words of support and love.
A memorial service will be held in Colorado on January 20, 2024 at 2pm at the Three Trees Chapel in Littleton, CO.
