A life taken far too soon.

Victor Bravo, a beloved son, brother, teammate, friend, and member of the East Texas community, tragically lost his life over the weekend in Smith County.

Victor was a young man with so much ahead of him. He was caring, compassionate, and soft-spoken, yet he possessed an incredible work ethic and determination. His teachers and peers spoke highly of him and described him as one of the best students they had ever had the privilege of knowing. His coaches also admired his dedication, character, and commitment.

Victor was a proud member of the Waskom Wildcats cross country team, where he helped set a standard for those who came after him. His hard work led him to qualify for the state meet, where he earned a medal and became the first Waskom Wildcat to medal at the state level in cross country. He was also the salutatorian of Waskom High School’s Class of 2025—an accomplishment that reflected not only his academic ability, but the dedication and perseverance that defined him.

There were so many great things ahead for Victor. His life was just beginning, and the loss of such a remarkable young man has left an unimaginable void for his family and everyone who knew and loved him.

We are asking for your support as Victor’s family navigates this devastating loss. Funds raised will help cover funeral and memorial expenses, provide support for time away from work as the family grieves and handles arrangements, and help with the unexpected expenses that come with such a sudden and heartbreaking loss.

During a time when the family should be able to focus on grieving and honoring Victor’s life, we hope this fundraiser can ease some of the financial burden and allow them to be together and support one another.

We may never understand why something so heartbreaking could happen to someone with so much life ahead of him. But we can make sure Victor’s life, accomplishments, and impact are never forgotten.
