In loving memory of Tyrone Humphreys

I am trying to raise funds to help my friend Tammy pay for her brothers funeral expenses. Tammy had already lost her parents and her younger brother. She and Ty were the only ones left. Tyrone was severely mentally disabled, and was a ward of the state for most of his life.

When Ty was young he loved to roller skate, and he was really good at it. He loved to go swimming. Ty loved listening to music and he enjoyed being outside. This past year had been very difficult for Ty. He was hospitalized In April for a fractured hip and a bowel obstruction. He was sent to a rehabilitation center after that to recover. Ty was so confused. He didn’t understand why he couldn’t go home, he stopped eating. Ty was admitted to the hospital again in July, because he wasn’t eating, and according to the doctor, he had the worst UTI that he had ever seen. Ty was treated and sent back to the facility in Oshkosh. Tammy, who has a severely autistic son as well and lives in appleton, tried to go see Ty as often as she could. She got him to eat and drink, but she couldn’t be there every day. The staff were definitely not doing what they should have to keep TY going. He deteriorated fast. Ty passed away Monday. October 13th. Tammy was not Ty’s legal guardian, but when a person dies, guardianship ceases to exist, and everything falls to the next of kin.

Ty’s guardian gave whatever money that was his, to the funeral home for expenses, but it was not even enough for a basic cremation. Tammy had hoped to bury Ty in a casket next to their other family members, but does not have the money to do so. We are asking for any contributions. It would be wonderful if Tammy could get a casket burial for Ty, but if we could at least raise enough money for the cremation, we would be grateful.
