IN LOVING MEMORY OF TRIPJEET KAUR SONI

Tax deductible
Tripjeet Kaur Soni, age 67, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday May 5th, 2022.

Tripjeet was born in 1954 in New Delhi, India. As a diplomat’s daughter, she lived all over the world. Before meeting Allan (Harpal) Soni, she taught French to foreign students in Paris until she married him in 1977. They moved to Richland, Washington and in 1979 had their first daughter, Shaleen (Sheena). While Allan worked hard as an electrical engineer and earning his master’s degree, Tripjeet took care of their daughter, the home, and most importantly, him. She always had dinner ready and made sure Sheena was the best in her class. In 1985, they moved to Louisiana and soon met the best friends they could ever have. Tripjeet also became a tax consultant for H&R Block and with her competitive nature and quick wit, she quickly became the top consultant and was promoted to manager of the Baton Rouge corporate office. She was an enrolled agent recognized by the IRS. Her clients adored her and she loved tax season, always looking forward to beating her record for quantity and quality of tax returns every year. In 1989 Allan and Tripjeet had their first son, Neil, and just two short years later, another daughter, Kiren. While their oldest went off to college, the two younger ones became Taco Bell loving monsters. In 2007, she became a grandmother (nani) to her first and only grandson, Kale. She somehow managed to be an even better grandmother than mother.

Tripjeet always had a strong spirit. She went through a double lung transplant five years ago and fought hard every single day. For the last year or so, she had been struggling with complications and her health had been steadily declining. She is now in peace and no longer suffering. Tripjeet lived a fulfilling life and touched the lives of many along the way. She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mom, nani, and friend. She will be missed dearly but she is forever in our hearts.
Tripjeet is survived by  her husband, Allan Soni, her children and their spouses, Sheena & Jason Maxwell, Neil Soni, Kiren & Paul Maserrat, her sister, Pravinder Vrydagh, her father, Bhagwant Dalawari, and her grandson, Kale Maxwell.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Rajinder Dalawari.

Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Tuesday May 10th, 2022 from 12:30pm until services at 1:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, our family would appreciate donating to the American Transplant Foundation.

The Soni family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has been there for the family through these difficult times.
