Dear Family and Friends,
After a long and difficult battle against COVID-19, our Dad Tomas Puebla unfortunately passed away on April 10, 2020. He was a beloved father, partner, family member, and friend and will be greatly missed.
Our father was many things: he had a great sense of humor, he was the wisest person we knew in spite of having never received a formal education, and his generosity reached everyone who knew him. When my dad was present, everyone was always full and happy because he was an amazing cook. He had a tremendous heart and this loss will be felt forever by everyone who knew him.
As his children, we are inspired by his bravery. From a young age, he always advocated for himself and he carried this strength through to his final days. From leaving his family behind in Mexico at age 13 and having to learn to support himself in a new country, my dad created his own success story. And in his last battle, he made the very brave decision to leave the first hospital he was admitted to, to seek more quality care. And in advocating for himself, he inspires us to stand up for ourselves, advocate for our immigrant communities, and always know our value as human beings.
We all loved and respected my Dad. Unfortunately, because of the current climate we are living in, we are unable to have a funeral service at this time. However, in order to help us pay for this unexpected tragic event, we would greatly appreciate our close friends and family's support in this time. All donations will go towards covering the costs of the funeral home and ensuring he has a dignified resting place.

Querida familia y amigos,
Después de una larga y difícil batalla contra COVID-19, nuestro padre, Tomás Puebla, lamentablemente falleció el 10 de abril de 2020. Era un gran padre, esposo, miembro de la familia y amigo muy querido, y lo extrañaremos mucho.
Nuestro padre tenía muchas cosas: tenía un gran sentido del humor, era la persona más sabia que conocíamos a pesar de nunca haber recibido una educación formal, y su generosidad llegó a todos los que lo conocían. Cuando mi papá estaba presente, todos siempre estaban llenos y felices porque era un cocinero increíble. Tenía un corazón tremendo y todos los que lo conocieron sentirán esta pérdida profundamente.
Como sus hijos, nos inspira su valentía. Desde muy joven, siempre abogó por sí mismo y llevó esta fuerza hasta sus últimos días. Al dejar a su familia en México a los 13 años y tener que aprender a mantenerse en un nuevo país, mi padre creó su propia historia de éxito. Y en su última batalla, tomó la valiente decisión de abandonar el primer hospital al que ingresó para buscar una atención de mayor calidad. Y al abogar por sí mismo, nos inspira a defendernos, abogar por nuestras comunidades de inmigrantes y siempre conocer nuestro valor como seres humanos.
Todos amamos y respetamos a mi papá. Desafortunadamente, debido al clima actual en el que vivimos, no podemos tener un servicio funerario en este momento. Sin embargo, para ayudarnos a pagar este evento trágico inesperado, agradeceríamos mucho el apoyo de nuestros amigos cercanos y familiares en este momento. Todas las donaciones se destinarán a cubrir los costos de la funeraria y asegurar que tenga un lugar digno de descanso.
