In Loving Memory of Tanya Floyd-Way

Hello friends/family/internet strangers-

My siblings and I, and my mother’s husband, Patrick Way, had to make the difficult decision to take our mother, Tanya Floyd-Way, off the ventilator yesterday. She was on a ventilator due to COVID and suffering from sepsis, and multi organ failure. This virus has been taking many of people’s loved ones away too soon. I never thought that my family would be one of those statistics.

 

I never thought that I would have to say goodbye to my mom this early. My mom was only 51 years old.

 

She had so many exciting things to experience still. She was supposed to attend my wedding, my sister’s wedding, as well as our brother’s. She was supposed to be around long enough to meet her future grandchildren. And now, she will never get to physically be apart of those memories for my siblings and I.

 

Everyone who knew my mom, knew she was a highly independent woman. She never asked for help. She was the one many people used to turn to for advice or help. My mom would always break herself into a million little pieces trying to help someone else. Despite the impact it took on her mentally/physically. She would bend over backwards to help anyone who needed it.

 

Some of that personality trait has rubbed off on all of her children. Which is why this is so difficult for us to post this.

 

We need help paying for our mother’s cremation. I am the oldest at 25 years old, my sister is 23 years old, and my brother 20 years old. We never thought we would have to plan for my mother’s cremation/celebration of life this soon. My mother’s husband, Patrick (or PJ for short), also was not expecting this to happen so soon. We need all the help we can get to properly take care of our mother’s remains.

 

We sincerely appreciate all of the comfort and support everyone has already provided to us during this process.

In lieu of flowers  or meals, proceeds from this go fund me will be solely used to provide for expenses incurred during medical stay and funeral preparations.
