It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking loss of Taha Chomelawala. On the afternoon of Sunday, August 23, 2026, Taha was involved in a scooter accident in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After fighting for two days, he passed away on Tuesday, August 25, surrounded by those who loved him.
Those who knew Taha knew him as a bubbly, compassionate, and boundlessly energetic person who poured that energy into his dream of becoming a neurosurgeon and caring for his community. A graduate of Conestoga High School ‘23 and rising senior at the University of Pittsburgh Frederick Honors College, Taha cared passionately for those around him and served as a medical researcher, teaching assistant, and EMT with the local fire company. Above all, he held a deep love for his family, friends, and twin brother Moiz.
In the days since the accident, Taha's family has faced not only an unbearable grief but the significant weight of medical costs from his time in critical care and the expenses of laying him to rest. This fund exists so that they can grieve their son and brother without carrying that burden alone. Every contribution goes toward his medical bills, funeral expenses, and support for his family in the months ahead.
Taha will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Thank you for keeping Taha’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
