On January 23, 2026, my mother Taanya Carter passed away peacefully in her sleep. Doctors shared that she likely passed from cardiac arrest or a stroke, and we find comfort in knowing that she did not suffer and that her passing was peaceful.

Losing her has been incredibly difficult, and our family is heartbroken. My mother meant so much to all of us and this community. Our mother was loving, caring, and always put others before herself. Her presence, kindness, and love will never be forgotten.
