In Loving Memory of Steve Swing

On Sunday, May 19, 2024, Steve Swing was welcomed by our Heavenly Father, undoubtedly hearing about how he had been a good and faithful servant. His strength now back and no more

suffering, we can only imagine the praise he exclaimed as he was shown to that room our Lord had been preparing for him all along. His soul is safe in the arms of Jesus, awaiting that glorious day of Christ's return, as we all do.

Steve Swing became head of security at Faith Church in Dyer, Indiana in the spring of 2021. Prior to accepting this position, he worked tirelessly as a volunteer for the church mowing lawns,

working tech, sound, security and anything that was needed. He loved the church and developed strong relationships with its members, mentoring and helping many of them. Being in community was always of high importance to him. 

Steve was first diagnosed with salivary gland cancer in April 2023. Complicating his treatment has been a history of diabetes, open heart surgery and numerous heart attacks. He’s received radiation, chemotherapy and immunotherapy this entire time and sadly, his cancer continued to spread throughout his body. Steve was in and out of the hospital 6 different times this past year. All of these medical costs have been a financial strain on Steve and Vicki.

When he was first diagnosed, Steve used his faith as an example to others facing their hardships. True to his character, his spirit remained strong throughout and his faith in the Lord has never wavered.

This GoFundMe is being organized by the Marriage Ministry group at Faith Church Dyer. Both Steve and Vicki were regular members of this group and the Go Fund Me is so that Vicki can be further supported through memorial contributions.
