Please see Stanley's story below as written by his daddy:
Stanley was born a twin with Henry,
Stanley was diagnosed before birth having a condition called hypo-plastic left heart syndrome only half of his heart developed from before birth
With 2 weeks of being born he suffered 2 strokes and had a pre op before his open heart surgery battling against the odds .
I new my Son Stanley was special
after his first surgery . Just 17 weeks later after being born he came home.
Growing up Stanley possessed a way to control a room with just his infectious smile and laugh oh and was my Boy a cheeky monkey. Always up mischief.
Our bond developed from me being by his bed side through all the hard times we was thick as thieves,
As he grew he showed me how brave and strong he was always trying to catch up when playing or just when he stopped to have a breather I was there but he always continued forward.
I taught Stanley to learn his own limits and nothing was impossible, after his second stage I felt like my son Stanley had a new lease of life he looked the best he ever had he was glowing. He was enjoying life living life to the fullest nothing stoped him.
Covid hit the country and prolonged his surgery the third and final stage of his heart condition and the surgery was delayed by 2 years.
When my children came to me for the weekend Carla and I noticed that Stanley didn’t seem himself Carla spoke to him and he said I feel really tired and really sore
I rushed him into Bristol children’s hospital to hear the worst news that his heart has gone into failure
I felt my Sons strength and believed in my heart he was going to come out the other end and be back home with us just like the times before.
That wish turned into a nightmare and from all the possibilities that he had got taken away as his body wouldn’t of been able to cope with a heart transplant the last 3 weeks of Stanley’s life replays in my head daily.
Carla and myself making sure he was happy he didn’t go without and most importantly with loved ones.
Not being able to tell him how long we had left or what was going to happen killed me .
Seeing his face every day saying dad when am I coming home is repeated when my eyes close .
My son Stanley was a Heart Warrior our life motto “KEEP CALM STAY STRONG KEEP FIGHTING” we said every day . The nurses pinned this on his hospital wall .
what ever was thrown at him he brushed it off and carried on like it was nothing through he was so strong.
The Memory of my Son Stanley will live on forever through me and his siblings .
I would like to thank everyone who has showed and support this amazing event . A huge thank you to
