Our dear friend Stacey Ross tragically died suddenly from sepsis on January 16, 2026 as a result of undiagnosed pneumonia; our hearts are broken, especially for her only daughter who she’s left behind.
Stacey was only 55 years old, and her loss has left a massive void in the lives of those of us who loved her, but significantly her teenage daughter Morgan.
Throughout December Stacey had been bedridden with what she thought was flu, she sought medical help multiple times. She visited her doctor and then ER when her symptoms became significantly worse, and fearing she was having a heart attack endured 12 hours in the waiting room only to be sent home without any treatment, just reassurances that she had a cold. Two weeks later, she was transported to the hospital by ambulance from her workplace, again relegated to waiting 12 hours before being seen. Stacey was finally given a bed at 10pm but heartbreakingly she had a cardiac arrest and died suddenly just a few hours later.
Stacey leaves behind her only daughter Morgan who had just graduated from high school in June. Morgan has not only lost her mother, but her sole caregiver, her greatest champion, advisor, and fiercest advocate at an age when parental guidance and support is pivotal.
We are a group of Stacey’s close friends, and we have created this fundraiser in the hopes of helping provide some stability, security and opportunity for Morgan as she begins to navigate life without her mom. Any funds raised will help support Morgan’s initial living expenses, post-secondary studies and allowing her the chance to build a viable future without extreme stress and uncertainty, beyond the loss of her mother.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Morgan in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support as we honour Stacey’s life and help care for the daughter she loved so deeply.
With gratitude
