October 16, 2022 was Sophie’s One Month birthday.

We had one month of heroism, heartache, and hope.
One month of sleeping in the NICU, reading to our girl in her apartment isolette, and giving endless “hand hugs.”
One month of sharing dreams for the future our whole family being under the same roof. Being home.

October 16, 2022 was the day Jesus called Sophie home.

Tiny fighter Sophie Jean entered the world at 24 weeks on September 16, 2022 by emergency c-section. Both Katy and Sophie were terribly sick, but the angels at Silver Cross Hospital were able to help them pull through. It has been a long and complicated recovery for Katy, but her body is on the mend. Her heart continues to ache from the rollercoaster of this past month. Katy and Tim have the unimaginable task of planning for their baby girl's funeral, something no parent should ever endure. From medical bills, helicopter and ambulance transports to and from Luries, funeral expenses, and time off from work, Katy and Tim have humbly agreed to turn to their community for support. All funds raised will be used towards medical bills and funeral expenses. Any support you can offer to Katy and Tim, financially or otherwise, is kindly and humbly welcomed and appreciated.
