Sol was a beautiful soul who left this world far too soon.

The word “Sol” means “Sun” in Portuguese, and that is exactly what she was to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her smile could light up a room, and her gentle, kind heart made people feel warm, welcomed, and loved.

Sol became much more than a friend to our family — she became part of it. She brought so much warmth and kindness into our lives and was a wonderful presence for our young daughters, always showing them what compassion and gentleness look like.

Despite her bright light, Sol faced more hardship and pain in her short life than anyone should ever have to endure. Though her life was far too short, she touched many hearts and will always be remembered for the light she brought into the lives of those around her.

After her sudden and tragic passing at just 20 years old, her twin sister and best friend, Giovanna, hopes to give Sol the meaningful farewell she deserves — a Celebration of Life where friends and loved ones can come together to say goodbye, honour her life, and surround Giovanna with the support and love she needs during this unimaginable time.

We are hoping to raise $5,000 to help cover expenses for the event. Any funds remaining will go directly to Giovanna to support her as she navigates life without her sister and begins the difficult process of rebuilding.
