On the morning of March 11, 2026, our lives changed forever.
Our beautiful daughter Skylar Hopson went missing from our home around 9:20 AM with her iPad. Skylar, who was nonverbal and autistic, had a natural fascination with water. When we realized she was missing, we immediately began searching for her.
The last location ping from her iPad was near the retention pond close to our home. Sadly, by the time the Houston Police Department Dive Team was able to reach the pond, it was already too late. Our precious Skylar Hopson had passed.
Skylar was our first born and she was truly the light of our family. The love, laughter, and joy she brought into our home can never be replaced. Her spirit filled every room, and her presence made our family whole.
Skylar leaves behind her 5-year-old baby sister, Jordyn Hopson, who still asks when her big sister is coming home. Trying to explain a loss like this to a child while our own hearts are breaking has been one of the most painful things our family has ever endured.
Nothing could have prepared us for the sudden and heartbreaking loss of our sweet angel, Skylar Hopson. This unexpected tragedy has left our family devastated and struggling to process a reality we never thought we would face. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make donations to this gofundme. The proceeds will be donated to an autism charity in memory of Skylar.
Your support and prayers mean more to our family than words can express and we thank you all for surrounding our family with love during this incredibly painful time.
Forever our angel, Skylar Lynne Hopson.
