Hi, my name is Jolly, a former student of Sir Roque Mario “Sir Boy” Cequiña at Colegio De las Hijas De Jesus. He wasn’t just our English teacher, he was a mentor, a guide, and a second father to many of us. I'm starting this fundraiser to honor the incredible life he lived and to help cover his hospital bills and funeral expenses. He gave us so much. Now it's our turn to give back.
"No matter how bad someone seems, there’s always something good in them."
These were the words Sir Boy once shared with us during an English class at Colegio De las Hijas De Jesus, while telling the story of a thief who loved his mother deeply. That moment stayed with us. It wasn’t just a lesson in literature, it was a lesson in compassion, in seeing the good in people, and in living with heart. This is how we will always remember Sir Roque Mario Cequiña, or as we affectionately called him, Sir Boy, not just as the best English teacher we ever had, but as someone who shaped the way we see the world.
Sir Boy passed away on July 6, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Even in his final days, he remained the strong, wise, and gentle soul we all admired.
He gave so much of himself to every student he taught, encouraging us to speak up, think critically, and write with heart. But more than anything, he taught us to be better people. He believed in second chances. He believed in the quiet strength inside each one of us. He saw the good, ALWAYS.
Now, we have a chance to give back to someone who gave us so much.
We are humbly reaching out to ask for your help in covering Sir Boy’s medical bills and funeral expenses. His passing has left not just an emotional void, but also a financial one for his loved ones.
️ Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly to his family to help them during this incredibly difficult time. Even if you are unable to give, we ask that you share this with others who may have known Sir Boy or been touched by his life in some way.
Let us honor his memory by coming together, just as he brought us together in the classroom. Let’s show his family the same kindness, generosity, and love that Sir Boy showed us, every single day.
Thank you, Sir Boy, for everything! Thank you for your wisdom, your warmth, your stories, and your unwavering belief in all of us. You will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace!
With love and gratitude,
Your students, Your second family
