In Loving Memory of Simon "Wani" Dada
Donation protected
On Sunday, December 29, at 2:00 am, my uncle, Simon Dada, passed away due to liver failure at Surrey Memorial Hospital. He leaves behind 4 children, as well as many other family members who loved him dearly, like me (Lazarous Taban), my siblings, my father (his brother), and my mother. My uncle's sudden passing has the entire South Sudanese community in shock, especially his family in South Sudan.
My uncle was always such a funny and friendly person who was like an open book. He was very intelligent and smart, and would always drop everything to help people whenever and wherever. His kind nature, his wisdom, and his eagerness to support others inspired many people in the community, and he will forever be remembered as a loving, caring, knowledgeable person.
With my uncle's passing, we now face the heartache of laying him to rest, which will happen in South Sudan, surrounded by his parents, immediate family and other loved ones/community members. The donations received from this fundraiser will support us with the following:
- Transportation of the body from Canada to South Sudan, to have him buried in his birth country surrounded by loved ones
- Funeral and other burial expenses that will financially support the family with their unmet needs, both in Canada and South Sudan
- Provide immediate support to us, especially my father as he navigates the loss of his brother
- Any other financial needs
Any amount is appreciated, and we are grateful for any support we receive during this difficult time.
