In Memory of Shireen Rasul; From Death to Life

Shireen Rasul is loved by many, and all those that have had the pleasure of being in her presence know just what a character she was! She was NOT shy, she was not politically correct, she was blunt and damn proud of it! She held nothing back; she said what she thought - just as the words were formed in her mind. However, above all else, she was loving and caring and wanted to build strong and close relationships with her family and loved ones.

Shireen did not have the easiest life. At the age of 17 she became a mother to the most important person in her whole world, her son, Angelino. She provided for him by all means necessary. As Angelino grew older, Shireen entered into a very abusive relationship. This man made her life a living hell. At the peak of this abuse, Shireen was thrown from a two story building and it is only by God's grace that she survived. Shireen managed to escape this relationship and centered her life around her son.

Shireen had immense pride in Angelino and when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, Shireen decided she too wanted have this same kind of relationship with God. Shireen had multiple health issues and could not survive without her oxygen tank. She hadn't left the house for the last 2 years because of how bad her condition had progressed. It was to the point that she couldn't lay down to sleep because she was unable to breathe. Shireen had a children's bible (because it was simplified and easier for her to understand). As we looked through her bible, we found passages and verses referring to wisdom and understanding. She circled the word "wisdom" and she asked God to give her understanding. She wrote in her bible "God is perfect. He is my Master and Leader". Shireen knew she was at the end of her disease. We believe she did receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior and that she is with our Father in Heaven now. She is no longer suffering. 

We are asking for your help so that we may provide Shireen with a beautiful memorial service. A service that will allow us to meet with friends and family and to honor and remember our loved one. Any amount/donation would be greatly appreciated and will help alleviate some of the financial burden we are experiencing during this time, as we mourn the loss of Shireen.

I will end this with one additional quote from Shireen's personal bible, "Surely Your goodness and love will be with me all of my life and I will live in the house of the Lord, FOREVER!".  Amen.
