In Loving Memory of Shay Thomasson

Donation protected
Shannon "Shay" Thomasson, 34 passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2019.

Shay was a hard working, fun loving, caring wife of CJ Thomasson.  Shay and CJ have been together 19 years.  She loved spending time with her friends and family; and her heart belonged to her son, Evan who is 8.

On March 19, Shay was diagnosed with Adult B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).  This is a very rare form of Leukemia as there are only 2,000 cases in the U.S. per year in adults.  She and her family packed up and drove to Cleveland Clinic the next day to begin her treatment plan.

Chemotherapy began on Monday, March 25th.  During her first week of treatment she also received two lumbar punctures in her spine.  The lumbar punctures were to remove the blast cells from her spine.

During week two of her treatment, she received additional lumbar punctures to receive chemotherapy and steroids.  The plan was to receive these treatments via lumbar puncture every Tuesday and Friday until there were no more blast cells in her spine.  A Hickman port was put in on Tuesday, April 2nd for IVs, blood transfusions and chemotherapy.

After two and a half weeks of receiving treatment and continuing to fight for her life, she passed away unexpectedly at Cleveland Clinic.

Due to the unforeseen diagnosis and sudden death of Shay, we as her family are reaching out for support for medical and funeral expenses.  Any additional donations will go to CJ and Evan.
