It is with broken hearts that we share the tragic and unexpected loss of our beloved family member, Shatisha "Pookie" Dade, who was taken from us at just 32 years old as a result of domestic violence.

Shatisha was a beautiful soul whose warmth, kindness, and compassion touched everyone she met. She had a smile that could light up any room and a spirit that brought comfort and joy to those around her. No matter the situation, she always found something positive to say about others and had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved.

She cooked like it was her love language, big soulful dinners just because it was a Tuesday, and her chicken was something people talked about long after the plate was empty. No matter the situation, she always found something positive to say about others, and she ended every single conversation the same way, with "I love you." That was just who she was.Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.

Shatisha leaves behind her precious 13 year old daughter Serenity, who recently celebrated her graduation from 8th grade, a moment Shatisha was so proud to witness. As our family grieves this unimaginable loss, we are also focused on surrounding her daughter with the love, care, and support she will need in the days, months, and years ahead.

We are asking for your help during this incredibly difficult time. The funds raised will go toward Shatisha's funeral and burial expenses, with any remaining funds used to support her daughter as she begins to navigate life without her mother, including counseling, stability, and the everyday needs of growing up without her mom by her side.
