On the morning of February 23, Scott Peterson suffered a medical emergency. After a courageous battle Scott unfortunately passed away February 26. At just 42 years old this was a shocking and devastating event for his wife, two young children, parents, family, friends, UNC Rex teammates, and all who knew him.

To know Scott is to love him. A loving husband, devoted father, caring friend, dependable coworker, and all-around GOOD person. Kind, witty, hardworking, dependable, passionate, and funny are just a few words that would come to mind to describe Scott after you spent just few minutes with him. He is the definition of a salt of the Earth man and to be able to fully sing his praises you would need years. In his final act on this Earth, just proving the man that he was, Scott was an organ donor whose sacrifices will go on to save numerous lives.

Scott spent his life helping others, now it is our time to attempt to emulate all that he stood for. His family is currently in an indescribable situation with overwhelming emotional and financial challenges. As those who love Scott and want to be able to help, the support of this campaign will not only cover his funeral and medical bills but also provide immediate financial relief for his family and help to secure an education and future for his two children.
