In Loving Memory of Sayan Basu

With a heavy heart, I, Sunny Kumar, am reaching out to you to ask for your support in a deeply tragic situation. My dear friend, Sayan Basu, a bright and kind-hearted young man of just 39 years old, sadly passed away on April 18th, 2025, at his home in Dublin.

Sayan had been living in Ireland for the past four years, full of hope as he worked towards building a better future for himself and his family back home. It is truly heartbreaking that his life was cut short so far away from them. Adding to this immense grief, Sayan was the sole provider for his family. He leaves behind his loving parents, his wife, and their young child. His father is currently hospitalised, battling terminal cancer. The sudden and unexpected loss of Sayan has devastatingly halted all immediate financial support and transactions for his family during this incredibly difficult time.

Our most pressing need is to bring Sayan's body back to India so that his family can have the chance to see him one last time and give him a proper farewell. No family should have to face such a tragedy compounded by the inability to bring their loved one home. The least we can do for Sayan and his grieving family is to ensure he makes his final journey home. We are urgently trying to raise funds to cover the significant costs associated with the repatriation process. These expenses include the transportation of his body, navigating complex legal and embassy procedures, and arranging for his funeral in India.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a profound difference to Sayan's family during this devastating period. Your generosity will directly help alleviate the financial burden they are facing and allow them to focus on grieving their immense loss.
