We are deeply heartbroken to announce our beloved father, Savuth Long has passed on February 11th, 2023.

He was a loving father, grandfather, friend and son.

Savuth Long was born on April 1, 1970. During his time in Cambodia from 5-8 years old, he lived in a refugee camp with his older siblings. At 8 years old, he had to flee from his village to the Thailand border for safety trying his best to keep up with the family during the Khmer Rouge.

At fourteen years old, he made his way to the US in 1984 and began his life.

By the age of 37, he had a total of six beautiful kids:

Teresa (32), Alan (27), Amary (26), Dominic (23), Alvin (21), and Tyra (16)

Our dad, who was a hard worker, strong-willed and a great improviser on how to live in the real world, taught us to never give up and ALWAYS do what's best in life. He was someone who always smiled even when times were rough. He had a laugh that everyone will miss. He was loved by so many people! He was the life of the party!

In his early adult years, he spent most of his summers playing competitive soccer at Rogers park. He loved watching his favorite basketball games (Celtics were his number one pick) and football. He also enjoyed playing ping-pong and fishing on weekends. But Sundays were his favorite day out of the week because it was golfing with his friends at a club.

In his life, he's had several successful careers, a lead in electronics, a service technician, started a business with his brother driving 18-wheeler trucks, and left off being a lead engineer for Olympus.

DAD, we miss you so much and you left us so soon. All the memories we've had with you will forever be cherished. We love you!

Savuth is survived by his children and their spouses, Teresa Long and Thay Moua, Alan Long, Amary Long, Dominic Long, Alvin Long and Kayleigh Anne Long, Tyra Long; and his grandchildren, Caleb Long-Moua, Annaleese Moua, Ava Moua, and Cayson Moua.

We would like to thank everyone for your love and support. All proceeds will go towards his funeral.
