In Loving Memory of Samantha D. Prewitt

Friends & Family,
As most of you may know, the Prewitt family suffered a great loss this week of Samantha Prewitt, loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. On February 8th, 2022 at 4:53pm at Parkview hospital in Pueblo, Colorado, Samantha took her last breath surrounded by her husband Leonard Prewitt and her children Dallas, Cheyenne, and Cody.
On December 30, 2021 Sam tested positive for COVID-19 and on January 3rd, 2022 she was admitted.
While at the hospital her oxygen was up and down and each day was different. Some days she would progress and other days she would take a few steps back. She had double pneumonia and two different infections she was fighting on top of dealing with COVID and diabetes.
On January 23rd Sam’s oxygen tube broke in half which plummeted her oxygen down to the 40’s.
And on January 26th we received a call that she needed to be intubated and put on a ventilator.
Sam fought extremely hard for 13 days before the doctors recommended to take her off and to allow her to pass peacefully and gracefully. The doctor had said if we continue to let her fight she was at great risk of having a heart attack, so as a family it was decided to withdrawal care and to let her return home to the Lord.
Samantha adored her 3 grandchildren- Zoey, Noach, and Wyatt more than anything in this world and had such a close, unique bond with Zoey. She loved road trips, candy, Tim McGraw, dressing up, doing her hair and makeup, playing Yahtzee, and spending all the time she could with her family. You can’t forget about her $3 bundle from McDonald’s with Mac Sauce with a large sweet tea- we would give anything to make that run for her one last time. You could find Sam sitting in her recliner watching All My Children with a big cup of Sonic ice or at Goodwill- she really loved that place!
We want to thank everyone who has sent prayers and well wishes to Sam and her family and we would greatly appreciate any donations given to help lay her to rest the way she deserves.

John 16:22
Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
Revelation 21:4
and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.
