Hi everyone, my name is Rachel and I have started this gofundme to help cover funeral/medical expenses for my Grandpa, Salvador Camacho.
On May 21 at 9:08pm, I received a message from my grandma stating that my grandpa had just had a heart attack. I called my grandma immediately, but she could not form any words through her cries. My heart dropped. My brother and I rushed to the hospital and arrive within 20 minutes. We waited anxiously in the waiting room as we comforted my grandma. She was scared and worried out of her mind. Around 10:20pm we were called by the doctors, hoping to hear that he was stabilized and ready to see us. But the update was that my grandpa’s heart stopped beating and after 30 minutes of compressions and intubating, there were no signs of rhythm.
This has been the most painful experience. We cannot comprehend what has happened. Within the span of 2 hours he was gone. The man who took in 3 kids as his own, raised them, fed them, worked tirelessly for them. The man who gave my grandma nothing but love, patience, security. The man who did everything to see a smile on his grandchildren’s face.
We have came together to cover expenses (my mom, brother and I), but we were unprepared and unaware of how much a funeral costs. Any little bit helps, a small donation is still HUGE for us.
