It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news of the passing of Salma Victoria Urias otherwise known as Sam. While her family works on funeral and service arrangements, we are raising funds to support them with the financial cost of Sam’s burial.

As her family grieves this unimaginable loss, we are asking our community of family, friends, neighbors and loved ones to help contribute what they can to ease the burden on Sam’s family during this time.

Sam passed away suddenly, she was only 25 years old. She was a beautiful, funny girl with attitude but she also had a big, caring heart. Her death is a tragedy. We will miss our daughter, our cousin, our friend, our neighbor. There is nothing that can replace her. Sam was a blessing. She was loved. She leaves behind a 4 year old son.

Sam was an integral part of our community on Aetna Street. For the past four years, she was a regular presence at our weekly community nights and street festivals—so often bringing down-to-earth conversation and genuine connection. With a keen eye for fashion, she’d always arrive in style. Sam was authentically herself, both soft and sarcastic, and she will be deeply missed.
