In Loving Memory of Sabas A. Cacananta
On September 25, 2020, Sabas A. Cacananta, or Sabie as he was known to family and friends, was admitted to the hospital but never came home. Sabie, loving husband to Naidz and adoring Tatay (dad) to Jonathan and Jasper, passed away in Van Nuys, CA on October 14, 2020, just a couple of weeks before his 82nd birthday. Due to coronavirus-related restrictions, his family was unable to visit him at the hospital and only able to communicate with him via video calls. Always a fighter, he fought until the end, but his various health complications along with COVID-19 proved too much to overcome. The Lord Jesus has called him home to join the other angels in heaven. Like so many affected by the pandemic during these unprecedented times, we are devastated by this sudden loss. Sabie's wife and their two sons will miss him greatly, a void that will be difficult to fill.
His youngest son (the bunso), Jonathan A. Cacananta, has set up this GoFundMe page for our dearest friends and family who have expressed a desire or have asked how to make a memorial tribute for Sabie or a financial contribution to assist with funeral costs. Our goal has been set at $6,279 to commemorate Sabie and Naidz's wedding anniversary, but any amount raised would be appreciated by the family. From the bottom of our hearts, we are grateful for your generosity, prayers, and continued support as we mourn but ultimately celebrate Sabie's life.
