Our hearts are shattered at the sudden loss of Ron Firemark, a loving husband, father and poppy to all his grandchildren. Ron unexpectedly needed a quadruple bypass surgery in June. He had multiple complications following the surgery and required a cardiac catherization with stents on November 7th. Hours after the procedure we received a call from the hospital he had suffered a massive stroke. We ran to his bedside and he spent 10 days in the ICU. The entire left side of his body was affected along with his speech and he has been unable to walk since. He was in a rehab facility making improvements slowly. Ron also has Alzheimer's so having a brain injury from the stroke with Alzheimer's made things extremely difficult for him. He still worked hard every day with his numerous therapists and all he wanted to do was be able to go home and sit in his favorite recliner. On the evening of December 17th, we received a call that he was in cardiac arrest. We rushed to his bedside where paramedics, EMTs, and firefighters were working feverishly to save his life. He would get a heartbeat and then minutes later he wouldn't have a pulse. He was transported to the hospital, and we followed the ambulance hoping and praying he would beat the odds. When we arrived at the hospital we were placed in a room and the ER doctor came in and said he had died multiple times and on the final time he had no pulse they were unable to resuscitate him. She was sorry for our loss. We were all devastated, especially my Mom. She had devoted the last six months of his life to being his full-time caretaker. She went to the hospitals and rehabs every day and would stay all day. They found true love within each other 16 years ago and in sickness and health she dug her heels deep and was committed to bringing him to full healing. The Lord intervened and called him home into the loving arms of Jesus. Over these past 6 months between hospital stays, medications, and provisions to the home to help with his medical issues they incurred a lot of debt. Unfortunately, Ron did not have a life insurance policy. We are asking for any help possible to help pay for medical bills and funeral expenses. Any dollar amount would be greatly appreciated to lift this burden from Mary so she can grieve and mourn the passing of her beloved husband.
