In Loving Memory Of Robert Sharland
Donation protected
Hi my name is Sophie, Sadly on the 2nd February this year we lost my dad to a cardiac arrest. He was the most amazing, fun, loving & caring man and he would do anything for anyone. He wasn't just a dad but a mum too as we sadly lost my mum to breast cancer when I was just 9 years old.
At dads funeral we managed to raise over £700 towards a defibrillator to be fitted in his memory at Sebastapol Social Club which was installed last week in his memory, but I don't want to stop there saving lives in dads memory is my ultimate goal. I am aiming to raise funds for another 2 defibrillators to be installed locally in New Inn, Griffithstown or Sebastapol.
There are around 60,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests that occur every year in the U.K. The survival rate for someone suffering cardiac arrest decreases by 10% every minute, using a defibrillator whilst you wait for the emergency services to arrive will more than likely save a life. The more defibrillators installed the more lives we can save.
