Support Rob Roca's Legacy for Young Athletes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Roca, an extraordinary man whose life was defined by his love for his family, his passion for baseball, and his unwavering dedication to his community. Rob was a devoted husband, father, and friend who cherished his family above all else.

In addition to his passion for coaching, Rob was a proud and dedicated superintendent for 151 W 74th. He took immense pride in his work and in serving the community he grew up in. Rob’s commitment to the people around him was evident in everything he did, from ensuring the well-being of his neighborhood to mentoring young athletes on and off the field.

Rob spent countless hours coaching baseball teams, instilling in his players a deep sense of pride, discipline, and love for the sport. His commitment to helping others extended far beyond the field, as he poured his heart into mentoring young athletes and creating opportunities for their growth and success.

In response to the outpouring of support and inquiries about how to honor Rob’s legacy, we have decided to create this GoFundMe in his memory.

Few people know about one of Rob’s most cherished projects: coaching a team of talented young athletes who came to the U.S. on student visas, dreaming of being scouted for college baseball. Rob went above and beyond to ensure these students were prepared for their opportunities, both on and off the field. He remained in touch with many of them as they pursued their college careers, serving as a mentor and cheerleader along the way.

The funds raised through this campaign will be donated to the local team Rob coached. The donation will specifically help with transportation needs, ensuring that future players can continue to access the opportunities Rob worked so hard to provide.

Rob’s love for his family, his dedication to his community, his commitment to the game, and his care for the kids he coached will never be forgotten. We hope this initiative will carry forward the incredible impact he made and honor his memory in the way he would have wanted.

Thank you for your support and for helping us keep Rob’s legacy alive.

I had the privilege of being Rob’s son in-law and will be helping Katty, his wife with this GoFundMe.
