It is with a heavy and painful heart that we share this extremely sad news of the passing of Robert Misquez Sr. He was not only a loving father, he was a mentor, a coach, a friend, a brother, an uncle, a grandfather and a father figure to so many young students that he spoke to on a daily basis.
If you know Robert, you know he loved sports. If you were lucky enough, you were coached by him at Agua Fria, Tolleson and Maryvale High School. He also coached his own children since they were little ones in Pop Warner and loved every minute of it. It brought so much joy to him to be involved in such a profound way.
He was a dad to so many students and many looked up to him. He was a mentor to so many. He had a natural way of connecting and relating to troubled youth and always tried to turn their lives around. He spoke to them on a level that they could understand, because he himself went through a very rough childhood.
As some of you may know, we lost our sweet Fabian a couple of years ago and the family has never recovered from it. We have been grieving the loss of such a beautiful soul. Robert Sr suffered severe depression over it and just couldn't get past the grief. Early on the morning of Sunday February 6th, he decided to take his own life.
This tragedy is so very unexpected and the family asks for any help that you can give to help bury their father with a memorial that he very much deserved. We know that he is no longer in pain and is finally home where he wanted to desperately be, with his son.
Thank you so much for all your outpour of condolences and prayers and love. We appreciate you so much!
Any donation helps. We truly appreciate you!
